HEDGEHOPE NEWS
CONCERT AND DANCE. A concert and dance was held in the Hedgehope Hall on Friday, November 23, in aid of the A. and P. Carnival, the proceeds from the evening going towards the funds of the Eastern District Princess. After the concert supper was handed round and the floor cleared for dancing. The music was supplied by Mrs Erskine and Mr R. Diamond acted as M.C. Church Social. On Monday evening the Hedgehope Presbyterian Church held its annual social in the Hedgehope Hall, where Mr Stevenson’s party from Gore gave a most enjoyable concert. The programme was: Pianoforte duet, Miss F. Hinchey and Mr C. Miller; solo, Miss E. Hinchey; humorous sketch, Mr C. McLeod; duet, Misses E. and F. Hinchey. recitation, Mr G. Patterson; solo,
Miss F. Hinchey; duet, Miss E. Hinchey and Mr R. Stevenson; humorous sketch, Mr C. McLeod; solos, Miss E. Hinchey; Mr R. Stevenson: Miss F. Hinchey; comic song Mr G. Patterson; duet, Misses E. and F. Hinchey. The Rev. Hetherington and Mr J. Graham thanked the party for coming and giving such a good concert. Mr Graham called for a hearty vote of thanks from the audience and his call was well responded to. The ladies of the district supplied the supper. Tennis Club. On Wednesday the local club held a working bee to prepare the grounds kindly lent by Mr D. Young. Morning tea was supplied by Mrs Potts and Mrs Belneavea assisted by Miss Logan and afternoon tea by Mrs and Misses Leebody also assisted by Miss Logan.
