MAORI ELECTIONS
YESTERDAY’S POLLING UNITED PARTY GAINS SOUTHERN DISTRICT OTHER SITTING MEMBERS RETAIN SEATS (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, November 13. The polling for the Maori seats in Parliament took place yesterday. It will be seen from the following results that only one change has taken place, in the Southern Maori electorate, in which the sitting member, Mr H. W. Uru (Reform) was defeated. The results of the polling were as follows:

NORTHERN
T. HENARE (R) 2387 P. Paikea (Ratanaite) 1555 H. K. Waiana ( —) 477 H. Heke (1.R.) 208 R. W. Hongi (L) 191 T. Maika (U) 188 L. W. Parore (I) 9 Four returns to come which cannot alter
EASTERN
HON. SIR A. T. NGATA (U) 4741 P. T. T. Moko (I) 1743 T. P. Stewart (L) 217 Four returns to come which cannot alter result.
WESTERN
HON. SIR MAUI POMARE (R) 4542 H. T. Ratana (Ratanaite) .. .. 2982 Six returns to come which cannot affect result.
