Appreciation ! An Unsolicited Tribute to Our Mail Order Department. Naturally, the Advertising Staff of H. and J. Smith's do not see all of the compliments that occur so frequently in the Mail Order Department’s correspondence, but every now and again the Mail Order-Staff forget their modesty sufficiently to bring in a letter more highly complimentary than usual to their work and to the quality, value and range of seiaction offered by the Store itself. Such a letter came from a delighted custom* last week—and we reproduce It here as a tribute to a hard-working Department with a praiseworthy record of satisfactory service to the thousands of postal shoppers all over the Province. Incidentally, the values which the writer of the letter found so excellent, were from the Dress and Silks Department, who offer a further series of unrivalled bargains on this page. The letter is as follows: “I have to thank you for the prompt manner in which th# articles recently ordered by mail were despatched by your firm. Aho for the splendid selection which you made and excellent value given, which the writer considers could not be beaten in this or any other country. “For obvious reasons I do not wish my name published in connection with this memo. "You are at perfect liberty, however, to show it to anyone interested. Again thanking you Sir, Yours faithfully, The Fancy Department M. S. H.
