In his report to the Southland Hospital Board yesterday the farm manager at Kew (Mr H. A. Brumby) states that owing to the severe weather experienced during the greater part of last month the spring growth had been very backward. This was noticeable in the grass paddocks and also in the gardens. During one of the storms the electric wiring outside the main building at the fever hospital gave way. It was later repaired by the Power Board. The Palmerston North Hospital Board received advice from the Public Trustee yesterday that under the will of the late Mr William Morris, of Palmerston North, the board will be the sole beneficiary, states a Press Association telegram. It is expected that the board will benefit by about £BOO which carries a Government subsidy. Deceased expressed the desire that the money be used for the general expenses of the old people’s home.
