TO-DAY’S GAME. The followers of Association Football will be pleased to know that a team from Ohai has challenged the winners of the local competition, and a game has been fixed for this afternoon at the Showgrounds. The Ohai team are very enthusiastic and it is only a year or so ago that they were in the local competition, and playing good football. Corinthians can field a good side, and followers of the game should witness one of the best games seen here for some time. Both teams contain players who are well conversant with all the points of the game. Association Football this year has improved wonderfully. No charge for admission will be made but a collection will be taken up to assist the association in fostering the game here and it is hoped a ready response will be made. The Schools Competition is nearing completion and two grades are playing on the Showgrounds on Saturday. A Grade: Waihopai Av. North A, and Middle A v. South A, both at 1.30 p.m. and B Grade: Waihopai B v. Middle B, at 10.30 a.m. The boys have shown great keenness and under the guidance of capable coaches have given fine exhibitions of the round ball code. The following will represent Waihopai A Greaves or McDowall; Scammell, Agnew; Couling, Watson, Kingsland; Smith, Stewart, Broad, Ryan, Hamilton. Emergencies, Mackrell, Parsons.
