A LOSING GAME
AN ORCHARDISTS TROUBLES. Sydney, September 7. A prominent orchardist in the Lithgow district has decided to cut down 7000 young apple trees just bearing owing to the high cost of labour and low market returns. He declares that fruit-growing is playing a losing game. He will devote the land to more profitable purposes.—Australian Press Association.
