A BIRTHDAY GIFT
In order to let everyone in Southland know that next week is the birthday of the Progressive Stores, Mr J. W. Smith is making a Birthday Gift to the Invercargill Beautifying Society of 10 per cent, of the cash takings of the Invercargill Store and to the Gore Sixpenny Clothing Club of 10 per cent, of the cash takings of the Gore Store. The following week Mr Smith will divide 5 per cent, of the cash takings of both the Invercargill and Gore Stores between the Invercargill, Gore, Winton, Wyndham, Otautau and Kelso Agricultural and Pastoral Associations. To attract shoppers to the stores Mr Smith announces the purchase at 10/- in the £ of a complete warehousemen’s stock valued at £5OOO. Full particulars of this stock are contained in a 12 page illustrated booklet which has been posted to every householder in Southland and parts of South and Central Otago. The objects are worthy of the support of every Southlander as not only wall a percentage of the purchase money benefit the province but the individual shopper will make a saving on everything they buy.—Advt.
