The wingspread of the Inflexible, the world’s largest all metal monoplane, is 150 feet. If stood on its side it would be taller than a 10-storey building. Its landing wheels are 7ft 6in high. At the last Grimsby municipal elections the driver and the conductor of the same tram-way car were rival candidates, the first a Conservative and the latter a Socialist. The Conservative won.
