FRIESIAN BREEDERS
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Friesian Breeders’ Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms on Saturday morning, Mr H. Fraser presiding over an attendance of some 20 members. The balance-sheet disclosed a credit of £4, but the secretary stated that there were outstanding accounts amounting to approximately £2O, so that the branch was nearly £l6 to the bad. The balance-sheet was adopted. No annual report was presented. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President,’ Mr W. Y. Dickie; vicepresident, Mr J. G. Oates; secretary and treasurer, Mr Urquhart. All present were appointed a general committee, with power to add to their numbers. Recommendations of Friesian judges for the forthcoming shows were made. A brief discussion arose as to the advisability of having outside judges at the Gore and Wyndham shows as well as at the Southland show. Though no motion as to whether local or outside judges should be recommended was carried, the selection proceeded on the basis that local judges should be recommended.
