MARKED DECREASE. A large decrease is shown in the Customs returns compared with the month of June, 1927. There has also been a marked decrease in the amount of indent goods coming forward for local merchants, the explanation being advanced that, local retailers are either buying more local goods or obtaining their requirements through northern indentors.
