ORE PRODUCTION

NEW BRITISH COMPANY OPENED. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, June 30. Lord Derby electrically ignited the light of enormous furnaces at the Fanpoll Tin Smelting Company’s works. The furnaces once lit will be kept at full blast, 2,250 degrees Fahrenheit, day and night for a year in order to obtain the maximum production of 1000 tons of ore monthly. The company is a British one formed to meet the increasing output of Empire ore. £500,000 worth of ore can be stored at the works.—Australian Press Association.
