Mr J. Pickard, district traffic manager, who has been on a visit to Dunedin, has returned and resumed duties.
Mr de Flua, managing director of the Dominion Trading Company Ltd., Wellington, paid a business visit to Mataura yesterday and afterwards proceeded to Invercargill. Mr M. E. Wiig, Norwegian Consul at Bluff, who returned from Stewart Island yesterday by the tug, is to leave again today for Dunedin. He expects to return about Saturday.
Dr. Samuel Green died at Hamilton suddenly on Tuesday night. He had been in poor health for some years. He was an ear specialist, having graduated M. 8., F.R.C.S., at Edinburgh and was local district secretary of the B.MA. He was born in England about 37 years ago and was a son of Dr. Green, of Lincoln. He came to New Zealand after the war and leaves a widow and two young children. —Press Association.
