EGYPTIAN PRINCE
ESCAPE FROM ASYLUM.
NAHAS PASHA IMPLICATED. Cairo, June 24. A sensation has been caused by the publication of a document allegedly signed in February, 1927, by Nahas Pasha in the capacity of lawyer and legal agent of Prince Ahmed Seif Eddin, who escaped from a private asylum at Ticehurst, Sussex, in 1927, whereby Nahas and two political associates were to receive £135,000 if successful in securing the annulment of an interdictment in favour of the prince. It is recalled that the prince was sentenced to imprisonment for shooting at King Fuad in 1892. Thereafter he was declared insane and mysteriously brought to England whence he escaped in 1927.—Australian Press Association. NAHAS’ MINISTRY DISMISSED. Cairo, June 25. A Royal rescript has been issued dismissing Nahas’ Ministry on the ground of the break-up of the Coalition.—Australian Press Association.
