UNEMPLOYMENT
POSITION IN WELLINGTON. RELIEF FROM CITY COUNCIL. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, May 29. At a meeting of the City Council tonight, it was decided to allocate £lO,OOO (an amount similar to last year) in order to commence work on unemployed relief immediately. It was also decided to approach the Government with a view to seeing what subsidy it was prepared to give. It was stated by the Mayor that there is definite work to which unemployed men can be put.
