BLUFF NOTES

METHODIST CHURCH. ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED. The anniversary of the Bluff Methodist Church was celebrated last evening, the function taking the form of a social after the formal business had been dispensed with. The proceedings commenced on Sunday when appropriate services were conducted by the Rev. Ayrton. A social was held in the church last evening, the Rev. Ayrton presiding over a good attendance of the congregation. Mr G. R. George read the annual report of the church, which showed its activities had increased during the year and prospects were much brighter than had been the case for some time. The report of the Sunday School showed that that institution was in a very flourishing condition. During the evening items were contributed by the choir, Miss Hutton, Messrs Phillipson, Grant and Bigwood (selection), Mr W. Crozier (solo), Miss G. Hutton (solo), Mr T. Johnson (solo). Miss G. Johnstone (piano solo), Miss F. Campbell (recitation), Mrs Creagh (solo), Mr Trotham (solo), Mr W. Barker (solo), Mr J. Moss (solo), Miss L. Hutton (violin solo) Miss Glady Hutton (solo), Miss Hutton and Mr George (duet). The accompanistes were Miss G. Johnston (piano), and Miss L. Hunter (violin).
