YUGO-SLAVIAN RIOTS

DEMONSTRATION AGAINST FASCISTS. NUMEROUS ARRESTS MADE. Belgrade, May 27. Following an Italian Fascist anti-Yugo-Slav demonstration a Yugo-Slavian counter-demonstration took place at Sebenico, Spalato, Laibach and Belgrade. The troops and the police used firearms to prevent the breaking in of Italian houses. Injuries and arrests were numerous. The rioters broke the windows of the Italian Consulates at Spalato and Sebenico The disturbances were most serious at Sebenico, where Italian shop-windows were smashed and the agency of the Pola Navigation Company was raided.—Australian Press Association.
