INVIOLATE PEACE
DETAILS OF TREATY AFGHANISTAN AND TURKEY PLEDGE OF ETERNAL FRIENDSHIP (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 8.40 p.m.) Constantinople, May 28. The London Daily Telegraph’s correspondent has obtained details of a treaty entered into between Turkey and Afghanistan as a result of King Amanullah’s visit. It pledges the parties to inviolate peace and eternal frendship. In the event of one of the parties being the object of an aggressive movement by any Power or Powers the other party to the treaty undertakes to employ all efforts to prevent aggression. If, despite these efforts, the movement takes active form and an armed attack becomes a “fait accompli,” the Turkish and Afghan Governments are pledged to confer together and seek a decision which conforms to their common superior interests. The Turkish Government undertakes to put all its military experts at Afghanistan’s disposition. Another article ordains that both enjoy the most favoured nation treatment. —Australian Press Association.
