BRIDGE AT NEW YORK

PLANS FOR NEW STRUCTURE. ESTIMATED COST £15,000,000. New York, May 12. Plans have been prepared for a bridge across The Narrows, at the entrance to New York Harbour. The span will be the longest in the world. Towers 800 ft high will support cables from Staten Island to the Jersey Shore. The length of the span will be 4500 ft, at an average height of 230 ft above the water. The cost of the bridge is estimated at £15,000,000.
