ENGLAND’S PLAYING FIELDS. HANDSOME GIFTS MADE. Rugby, May 25. The movement started by the National Playing Fields’ Association for providing outdoor recreation facilities in thickly populated areas has resulted in salutary gifts of £330,000 and 4000 acres of land, while the Ministry of Health has sanctioned loans by local authorities amounting to £300,000 for the acquisition of a further 1300 acres to be used as playing fields. —British Official Wireless.
