BALFOUR NOTES
FOOTBALL CLUB’S DANCE. The much-discussed dance of the Balfour Football Club duly eventuated on Wednesday evening, when the Town Hall was comfortably filled. The night was somewhat stormy and this probably kept many near their own firesides. Excellent music was supplied by Kroning’s orchestra, comprising C. Wallis (piano), F. Kroning (violin), H. Holland (cornet) and E. Cronin (effects). Messrs A. Savage and S. Keown were efficient Masters of Ceremonies. RURAL DELIVERY. Interest in the proposed rural delivery is increasing. A meeting of those interested was held in the hall on Saturday evening, being attended by close on 30 gentlemen, practically all of whom signed the petition. Canvassers were appointed to cover the whole district and report at a future meeting. ANGLICAN CHURCH. A meeting of members of the Anglican Church was held on Tuesday evening, when it was decided to hold a euchre party, gift auction and dance at an early date, the proceeds to go towards church funds. A meeting will be held shortly to make preliminary arrangements for a monster bazaar for the same purpose.
