BREACHES OF THE LAW

MEN CHARGED WITH THEFT. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, May 24 Frederick Hunt Hardgrave, aged 29, a carpenter, pleaded guilty at the Magistrate’s Court to-day to the theft of a gold chain and locket valued at £6, and was sentenced to six months’ gaol. Accused stole money from a house which he entered by a window. Francis John Snow, charged with theft of a wireless set and accessories of the total value of £46 10/-, and with obtaining clothing, jewellery and goods to the value of £62 4/3 by valueless cheque, pleaded guilty and was ordered to be detained in the Jiorstal for three years. He had been previously in the Borstal for theft.
