SEQUEL TO COLLISION

COMMERCIAL TRAVELLER FINED. DRUNK IN CHARGE OF CAR. (Per United Press Association.) Hokitika, May 24. Following two motor cars colliding in Aratura Road at five o’clock last evening, William Harold Shaw, a commercial traveller, appeared at the Magistrate’s Court charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a car. The police evidence showed that a collision occurred orr a 24-foot road in spite of the efforts of the other driver, defendant’s car swinging across almost at right angles into the other car, which was carrying a team of hockey girls. Both care were badly smashed about the front wheels, mudguards and running boards, but none of the occupants were injured. Defendant was fined £lO and costs. Tlfe suppression of his name was refused.
