CONFERENCE AT HASTINGS. (Per United Press Association.) Hastings, May 24. The Fruitgrowers’ Provincial Conference to-day resolved to support a proposal to create a central fund for the purpose of protecting the Government guarantee, such fund to be created by a board collecting a maximum levy of 3d per case, and after paying ordinary expenses transfer the balance of each year’s levy to such central fund, provision to be made by which, in the event of the fund reaching a sufficient sum, yearly contributions be refunded commencing with the first year’s contributions to the shippers in proportion of the individual contributions made.
