A FOOTBALL ACCIDENT

A FRACTURED LEG. YOUTH INJURED AT EDENDALE. An unfortunate accident occurred during the third grade ‘football match, Pioneer v. Edendale, played at Edendale on Wednesday, a Pioneer player, C. Bowmar, a son of Mr and Mrs E. Bowmar, Waimumu, sustaining a fracture of the leg. Bowmar, who is a lad 16 years of age, was playing full-back for the Pioneer team, and shortly after the commencement of the second spell he and an Edendale player both kicked at the greasy ball, and by some means Bowmar received the kick on his leg, sustaining the injury mentioned above. Pending an X-ray examination, the full extent of his injury will not be known. The Ipd was removed to the Gore Hospital, and inquiries yesterday morning elicited the information that he had spent a comfortable night.
