RIVERTON NOTES HOCKEY. (From Our Correspondent.) On Wednesday afternoon Ohai met Riverton on the latter’s grounds. Thei day was cold and wet and there was a poor attendance of supporters. The game, however, was well contested. Each team had scored four goals, and it looked as if a drawn game would be the result, but just before the whistle sounded Ohai added another goal, thus carrying off the match. For the winners Mrs Cantrick, Mrs Baird, Misses Porteous and Ferguson, were the most prominent, while Misses Clark, Blackmore and Hopwood (2) played well for the home team. Mr Fred Ashley was referee. FOOTBALL. Riverton seniors journeyed to Ohai on Wednesday and were defeated by 14 to nil. On Saturday Ohai Juniors try conclusions with the local club at the seaside.
