There were no major sbippingjimjmients at the port yesterday. ’ The oyster fleet put out yesterday morning, but met with little success owing to the rough weather. The T.M.V. Southland made her weekly trip to Steawart Island yesterday, sailing at 10.40 a.m. with about 30 passengers, most of whom were islanders returning home, and arrived back at 4.50 p.m. after a rough trip. According to advice received from the Port Craig Timber Co. the Oreti sailed for Port Craig at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. She will proceed thence to Dunedin and is expected to return to Invercargill about Tuesday. The Calm, Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co. advise, arrives at Bluff on Saturday, sailing the same day for the usual ports. The National Mortgage and Agency Co. advise that the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s new motor vessel Taranaki sailed from London on May 18 with cargo for discharge at Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Bluff, Napier and New Plymouth. She is due at Napier on June 21 and at Bluff on June 30. The Katoa which left Westport yesterday with a cargo of coal for Bluff and Dunedin, is due at the former port to-morrow. The Manuka is due at Bluff on June 2, leaving Melbourne yesterday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. The National Mortgage and Agency Co. advise that the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.’s steamer Tainui will load meat and general cargo at Bluff for London and Continental ports on June 20. The Tongariro, Messrs J. G. Ward and Co. announce, leaves Liverpool on August 18 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff, due here about September 28. The Port Sydney from Australian ports which is due at Bluff on June 11 to load refrigerated and general cargo for London will then proceed to Port Chalmers. The Port Curtis which is also due on the same day to discharge general cargo from London and New York, will sail for Napier to complete loading for London and West Coast of the United Kingdom ports. The Canadian Challenger which left Montreal on May 1, is due at Bluff about Friday with Canadian cargo. The Kanna is due at Bluff about June 20 with a cargo of guano from Walpole Island. The Shaw, Savill steamer, Raranga, is due at New Plymouth on May 28 from Bisbane to commence loading for New York, Boston and London. The vessel will also load at Lyttelton and Wellington, taking Bluff cargo by coastal transhipment. She is to leave Wellington on June 3 for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland, and will sail finally from Auckland on June 16. The Karetu is expected to leave Sydney about the end of the month for Bluff direct, proceeding thence to Dunedin and Lyttelton. She will then return to Bluff about June 15 to load for Sydney direct. Leaving Los Angeles on the 15th inst. for Apia and Napier, the Waikawa is due at the latter port on June 11. She will afterwards proceed to Bluff where she is due about the 23rd.
