CONVERSION OF CAR

TWO YOUTHS GO TO GAOL. (Per United Press Association.) Palmerston North, May 23. Henry William Gardner Meech and Colin Charles McAsey, both 20, were charged before Mr Stout, S.M., with unlawfully converting to their own usp a motor car. They pleaded guilty. The police stated that the car was taken from the Square, and later recovered at Hawera. Each was sentenced to three months’ hard labour, the Magistrate remarking that this class of offence was on the increase. Even the maximum punishment was apparently unable to stop it.
