MAGISTRATE’S COURT. (From Our Correspondent.) Before Mr G. Cruickshank, S.M. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following cases: —Wallace County Council v. William McCall, for £ll 3/10 (Power Board rates) and costs £1 5/-; A. D. Pulley v. C. Woods, for £7 19/8 and costs £1 12/-. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. H. Pope was ordered to pay £6 15/6 to W. Anderson on June 21 in default 14 days in Invercargill gaol. Henry Weir was ordered to pay Brace, Windle, Blyth £3 4/9 on June 21 in default seven days in Invercargill gaol. POLICE CASES. The police proceeded against G. F. O’Connor, James Drew and E. J. Murphy for being on licensed premises after hours. After hearing the evidence the Magistrate convicted the accused. O’Connor was fined £2 and costs 12/-, and Drew and Murphy £1 and costs 12/- each. A. S. Peek (Mr Russell) was charged with selling liquor after hours, and was convicted and fined £5 and costs 12/-. APIARY CASES. The apiary inspector (Mr S. C. Rhodes) proceeded against William May for keeping bees in other than the regulation hives.— Convicted and discharged. For exposing honey, bee combs and appliances from a hive infected with foul brood William May was convicted and fined 10/- and costs 12/-. WESTERN DISTRICT FOOTBALL. The various clubs in the Western District have nominated the following players as probables for the representative team to play in Invercargill on June 4 (Country Day), the final decision resting with the selectors: — t Backs. —G.
