WELLINGTON SESSION. PRISONERS SENTENCED. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, May 12. The following prisoners were sentenced by Mr Justice Smith:— Edward Prendergast, three years’ gaol for indecent assault on a male. John George Furey, aged 19, four years in the Borstal, concurrent with the two years’ sentence he recently received for indecent acts on a male. James Peter Walker and Alfred Victor Smith were each fined £l5 for ths theft of a radio set. Gordon Lewis Keene, a married man, aged 32, for forgery and uttering was sentenced to reformative detention not exceeding two years. AUCKLAND SESSION. Auckland, May 14. Several prisoners were sentenced by the Supreme Court to-day. Athol Lynch, for breaking, entering and theft at Opotiki, two years in the Borstal; Edward Charles Townshend, bigamy, five years’ hard labour; Joseph O’Keefe, horse stealing, twelve months’ imprisonment; Gordon Sidney Hayward, theft of fencing wire at Whangarei, twelve months’ probation.
