GERMAN WARSHIP VESSEL STEERED BY WIRELESS AN INGENIOUS MODEL (United Press Assn—By Telegraph—Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, May 13. The Daily Express’ Berlin correspondent states that an 11,800 tons warship without a squl aboard leaves Wilhilmstrasse on Monday on a trial trip in the North Sea. She is the ex-liner Zaehringen which is steered by wireless from a torpedo destroyer following several miles astern. The Zaehringen is expected to be under perfect control. She will zig-zag occasionally as if under enemy gunfire. Artillery ex. perts of the German Navy will thus have a moving target. All the openings in the deck will be closed and there will be no portholes or conning tower. She is said to be unsinkable under the heaviest fire as every vacant space inside the hull is filled with cork. The engines burn oil and are constructed to run automatically for hours on end.—Australian Press Association.
