APPLICATION TO APPLES URGED. London, March 23. The Merchandise Marks Standing Committee as the result of inquiry recommends an Order in-Council prohibiting the importation and sal© wholesale of fresh apples unless each container indicates the origin. It also conaidera that there should be prohibition of exposure of apples for retail sale unless the origin is indicated by means of a showcard displayed in close proximity.— A. and N.Z.
