Sydney, March 23.—The Diocesan Synod adopted the constitution of the proposed Church of England in Australia amid great enthusiasm. —A. and N.Z. Mountain Tragedy. Vienna, March 22.—Twelve dead were recovered out of the party of skiers overwhelmed in a snowslide at Sonnblick. Five were reecued. —A. and N.Z. Art Exhibition In Sydney. (Rec. 8.15 p.m.) Sydney, March 23. The Premier, Mr Bavin, to-day opened an exhibition by New Zealand artists at the Grosvenor Art Gallery.—A. and N.Z. Zoubkoff Leaves Belgium. Brussels, March 22. —Derniere Heure states that Zoubkoff, in obedience to the Government’s order, has left Belgium for an unknown destination.—A. and N.Z. Donetz Arrests. Berlin, March 22.—M. Tchitcherin informed Dr. Rantzau that one of the men arrested at Donetz, Herkoster, is really a Russian, a mistake having arisen through his German name.—A. and N.Z. Population Of China. Shanghai, March 22.—According to the census of the Directorate General posts in Pekin, China’s population is 485,508,000. The increase during the past three years is estimated at 49,413,000. —A. and N.Z. Warships Collide. Rugby, March 22.—The Admiralty announces that Submarine 4R, on coming to her periscope depth, collided with the destroyer Thrusher. The damage appears to be confined to both periscopes and one periscope standard.—British Official Wireless. Canadian-Australian Trade. (Rec. 8.40 p.m.) Vancouver, March 22. A message of protest against any interference with the Canadian-Australian trade treaty has been sent to the Premier, Mr McKenzie King, and the Minister of Trade and Commerce at Ottawa by the Council of the Vancouver Board of Trade. It is the opinion of the board that the treaty has proved of great, value to Vancouver and British Columbia.—A. and N.Z.
