SENIOR APPOINTMENTS SOUTHLAND CHANGES. The following appointments and transfers have been made by the Re-grading Board affecting the Southland Railway District: District Traffic Manager, Invercargill, Mr J. Pickard; Stationmaster, Invercargill, Mr D. J. Donald; Chief Clerk District Traffic Office, Invercargill, Mr J. A. Lindsay; Officer in Charge of the Goods Branch, Invercargill, Mr W. H. Jarman; Stationmaster, Gore, Mr W. J. Smith. Messrs D. J. Donald, stationmaster at Invercargill and W. J. Smith, stationmaster at Gore, are merely confirmed in the positions which they have held for some time, but re-graded under the new system now in operation. Mr Donald has been stationmaster at Invercargill for the past three years coming from Lambton, Wellington. Mr Pickard received definite word of his appointment as District Traffic Manager over a month ago. Mr J. A. Lindsay, District Transport Officer, has been promoted to the position of chief clerk in the District Traffic Office. Mr Lindsay has been with the Railway Department in various capacities for about 30 years, of which the last seven have been spent in Invercargill. Mr W. H. Jarman, of New Plymouth, will take Mr Lindsay’s place here. ADDITIONAL APPOINTMENTS. Mr J. W. Reay, chief clerk, Invercargill, has been appointed assistant indoor manager to the District Traffic Manager, Wellington. Mr W. Rodger, of the Transport Office, Invercargill, has been transferred on promotion to the Christchurch branch. Mr H. L. Gibson, formerly transport officer, Invercargill, and now of Christchurch has been transferred to Dunedin.
