TAPANUI NOTES
ANNUAL SHOW. (From Our Correspondent.) The Tapanui Farmers’ Club is holding the annual show to-day. The entries are slightly less than last year. PLUNKET SOCIETY. The district nurse reports that the general health of the babies of the district has been very satisfactory during the past month. The society is holding a sale of cakes and produce at the local show today. GENERAL. It is much to the credit of the local medical men and the hospital staff that the outbreak of scarlet fever at the beginning of the school holidays has been so confined, and no fear is now felt in the district. PERSONAL. The Rev. C. E. P. Webb and family have returned by motor to Riverton after spending three weeks at Tapanui. The Rev. A. L. Carter and family have returned to Tapanui after three weeks at Riverton. Mr G. A. Simpson, of the Railway Department, has been transferred to Christchurch. Constable H. Bramires and family have returned from their motor trip through Central Otago. Mr James Horn, M.P., visited Heriot. last week, and was met by the local progress committee when post office matters were discussed. Mr J. Harrison of the Bank of New Zealand and family have returned from a motor tour in Canterbury. Mr W. Cameron, chairman of Tuapeka County Council, toured the country last week observing the condition of the roads.
