INTERRUPTED FUNERAL
BURIAL OF FOUR FIREMEN. London, December 31. The funeral of four firemen was passing the Glasgow Fire Station when the bells rang, resembling a tribute to the dead, but the guard of honour rushed inside. The funeral procession, including hundreds of firemen, police and public representatives, halted while the engine turned out to a fire. While the bodies were being lowered into the grave a second alarm compelled the firemen to hurriedly deposit the wreaths and rush off to duty—A. and N.Z. Four firemen were killed at Glasgow under the falling walls of a warehouse which was destroyed by fire on Christmas
