GORE DEFEATS WAIKAIA. (From Our Correspondent.) On Wednesday afternoon the Gore Club secured a narrow win against Waikaia on (he latter club’s ground. Batting first, Waikaia scored 102 runs, S. Lee 31, J, Hamer 19 and J. Allan reaching double figures. Gore had two wickets down for 20, but had reached 80 for the loss of the third wicket. After that, however, the batsmen were dismissed cheaply and just succeeded in passing the home team’s total. The only two double figure scorers were Poppelwell 37 and Kelly 24.
