PLAY AT GLENEAGLES. (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) London, July 22. At Gleneagles, in the first round, Compston beat E. R, Whitcombe 3 and 2. Havers beat Williams 4 and 3. C. Sayner beat Mehlhorn 5 and 4. W. Brown beat James Braid 2 and 1. Other winners were Ray, Duncan, Boomer, Ockenden and C. Whitcombe.
