CANADIAN’S BROKEN SPINE. DEATH AFTER TEN YEARS. Vancouver, June 1. The battle of Vimy Ridge, fought on April 9, 1917, claimed the life of another Canadian soldier last week. Private Frappier fell when a German mine blew up as he charged with his comrades. That Private Frappier lived ten years after sustaining his injuries was considered remarkable. His spine was broken in several places, and, from the time stretcherbearers picked him up on the battlefield, his case was regarded as hopeless. He was treated in England for some time, and, I after the Armistice, was brought to Mon- • treat He was in his 35th year.
