BRATIANO SECURES OVERWHELMING VICTORY. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Bucharest, July 8. Election returns indicate that M. Bratiano’s new Federal Government scored an overwhelming victory gaining 328 seats, the National Peasants 46, and the minorities’ bloc 14. M. Bratiano’s Party had only 15 seats in the last Parliament. —A. and N.Z. Earlier reports from Bucharest described extraordinary methods to ensure M. Bratiano’e victory at the general election. Opposition meetings were forbidden throughout the country and election literature was confiscated. The Socialist candidates in Transylvania were impressed and large numbers of the opposition voters have been called up for military training, making voting impossible. Others were refused voting papers on various pretexte.
