FORD APOLOGISES
ATTACKS ON JEWS WITHDRAWN. New York, July 9. Henry Ford has ordered his newspaper, the Dearborn Independent, to cease publication of articles reflecting on the Jewish people, and also to withdraw from circulation international Jewish pamphlets. Mr Ford says his multitude of activities makes it impossible for him to keep informed on the contents of the magazine articles which had justified the righteous indignation entertained by Jews everywhere toward him, adding:— “I am mortified upon discovering the actual nature of the articles. Those who know me will bear witness to rhe fact that it is not in my nature to inflict insult or pain upon anybody. I deem it my duty as an honourable man to make amends for the wrong I have done the Jews as fellowmen and brothers, asking forgiveness for the acts unintentionally committed, and I give them my assurance that henceforth they may look to me for friendship and goodwill.”—A. and N.Z.
