DECREASE OF PREFERENCE NEGATIVED. (Rec. 7.35 p.mj London, July 8. In the House of Commons Sir Cooper Rawson’s amendment to increase the preference granted to Empire brandy from 2/6 to 10/- was opposed by the Attorney-Gene-raL Sir Douglas Hogg and negatived without a division being taken.—A. and N.Z.
