The Calm arrived at Bluff at 11 a.m. yesterday from Dunedin. The steamer Oreti came in on Friday night and passed on to Dunedin after remaining half an hour. The oil tanker Malistan started to pump into the local oil tanks about 8 a.m. on Saturday and had pumped about 500 tons by noon after 11. She sailed for Dunedin at 4 p.m. The ketch Britannia arrived on Saturday morning with 131 cases of fish. The Union Company advises that the Moeraki is to leave Dunedin this afternoon for Bluff, where she is due on Tuesday. She is timed to sail on Wednesday afternoon for Melbourne direct. The Kaiwarra is due to load at Newcastle early this week for Bluff, Timaru and Dunedin. She is due here about July 11. The Calm is expected to-day from Wanganui and Wellington, via ports. She will be despatched for the north again this evening for Nelson, New Plymouth and Westport, via ports The Wingatui is expected to leave Auckland to-morrow for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. Cabled advice has been received that the Hororata sailed from Panama on June 27 in continuation of her voyage from London to Wellington. She is due at the northern port on July 18. , The Port Pirie was to leave Gisborne on Saturday for Napier to continue loading. WHALE CHASERS FOR OVERHAUL. Two whale chasers from the whaling base at Stewart Island yesterday were expected to reach Port Chalmers yesterday for docking and overhaul. Of the chaser fleet of 10 vessels at Stewart Island two have passed the stage of usefulness, and it is said that one of the others has been sold for trawl fishing and oystering. The remaining seven are being put in readiness for the ensuing whaling season. WAIKAWA RECOMMISSIONED. The Union Company’s steamer Waikawa, which was recommissioned at Port Chalmers, was to sail on Saturday for Newcastle to load for New Zealand. Captain J. G. Watson, late of the Kaikorai, is in command. MATAROA LEAVES COLON. Cabled news has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that the Mataroa left Colon on the afternoon of July 25 for Southampton and London, en route from Wellington. She sailed from Wellington on June 4. MOTOR-SHIP’S FAST PASSAGE. The C. and D. Line’s new motor-ship Port Fremantle, which made an exceptionally fast maiden voyage to Australia, has again demonstrated her great speed. Leaving Sydney at 7 a.m. on June 16, the Port Fremantle arrived at Hobart at 1 a.m. on June 18, after a passage averaging 15A knots. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
