CONDITIONS AT GORE. A REMARKABLE MONTH. The conditions locally last month were remarkable for the amount of frost experienced and the low rainfall. Frost was recorded every day for June, the lowest reading beng 17deg. Fahr., or 15deg frost, ,on the 21st, while 12deg. were recorded on three occasions. Frost has been general throughout Southland, being particularly severe in the southern and western districts. The sunshine recorded has been good for this month, amounting to 140 hrs. 14min against 92hrs. 20min. in 1926. The sunshine to date for the first six months of the year amounts to 989 hrs. 23min. against 865 hrs. 29min. for the corresponding period of 1926. The rainfall amounted to .78in. for the month, the heaviest fall occurring on the 26th, when .35in. fell. Snow fell on two days, the fall being fairly heavy on the high country. The total rainfall at Wendon for the month of June was .84 inches. Rain fell on four days, the heaviest fall being .26 inches on the 26th. This has been the lowest June rainfall since 1920, when the rainfall recorded was .57 inches.
