An evenly-contested game of hockey was played on the grounds at Te Wae Wae on Wednesday, Orepuki and Hollyburn teams taking part. From the bully-off Hollyburn forwards secured and passed to the left wing, who sent in the ball on reaching the circle and Miss L. Whyte scored. .From then on play was fast and the Hollyburn goalkeeper was called upon to clear on more than one occasion. The full-back also put up a good defence against the Orepuki forwards. Several times Hollyburn attempted to add to the score, but Miss A. Hart as left full-back played a splendid game, clearing with solid hits, and her placing of the ball gave Orepuki forwards good opportunities. In the second spell Miss Whyte added another goal for Hollyburn. Orepuki's shots were cleared by Mrs Laurie. Within ten minutes of time the visitors had not scored, when, from a scramble at the goal-mouth Miss Watson netted the ball. The game ended with the score unchanged.
