ANOTHER WIN

N.Z. CRICKETERS EDINBURGH CLUBS BEATEN BY TEN WICKETS DACRE MAKES 167 (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) London, June 30. Dacre hit out brilliantly, his 167 only occupying an hour and a half. He was in his best form and rattled on the runs at a great rate, as may be judged from the fact that among his strokes were three sixers and no less than twenty-six fours. Mills was more restrained. He played soundly, took no risks, and was at the wickets three and a half hours for his unfinished 75.

When New Zealand declared with seven wickets down for 405, Edinburgh required 207 to avert an innings defeat, and actually lost six wickets by the tea adjournment for only 131. McKessack, however, emulating Dacre, hit out so determinedly that he reached 94 in an hour before the last wicket fell at 2.46.

Mills made his first appearance as bowler in this innings, but he can hardly be regarded as a success, for no fewer than 122 runs were scoied off him for only two wickets.

New Zealand had 40 to get to win, and found no difficulty in obtaining them without any loss, thus winning by ten wickets. In this match 893 runs were scored in the course of the two days’ play. Dempster has now scored over 1000 runs and Dacre has brought his total to approximately 900.
