WILL DISPUTED

ADOPTED DAUGHTER’S CLAIM. ACTION DISMISSED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, July 1. A case in which an adopted daughter applied for a variation in her favour of a will by which the father left his estate to his widow was dismissed by Mr Justice Reed yesterday. His Honour said he was satisfied the Court should not disturb a widow’s estate unless it was so large that it could be done without inconvenience.

Plaintiff’s counsel suggested that the widow was in a strong financial position with a free house, a weekly income of £3, and £350 in the bank. On an undertaking being given by the widow to pay £5O towards the plaintiff’s debts the action was dismissed.
