FILM INDUSTRY

RIGHTS CRIPPLE DOMINION PRODUCTION. Sydney, June 17. Giving evidence before the Commonwealth Film Commission, Mr Raymond Hollis, film producer, declared that the Australasian Films Company had crushed the production of films in Australia. Local pictures could be produced at a handsome profit, but all the avenues for the release of the pictures were cut off. He had produced a film in New Zealand but had afterwards found that the company had interests in New Zealand and he could not release the picture there.—A. and N.Z.
