Dawson, a member of the Council of the New Zealand Boxing Association, addressed the spectators briefly, and stated that the tourney that, was being arranged between the Canterbury and Wellington district teams was the beginning of a move to establish the meetings of teams from the four main military districts, a move which it was hoped would lead up to an aqpy championships tourney on the lines of the big titles meetings held in Great Britain.
