TEMPERANCE UNION

WOMEN’S BRANCH. MEETING AT SOUTH INVERCARGILL. Despite the cold on Tuesday afternoon, a fair number of members attended at St. Peter’s Sunday School where the president, Mrs Pasley, opened the meeting with devotions, and thereafter gave a concise summary of the result of the W.C.T. Union’s efforts at the tea rooms during the Winter Show, saying that the enterprise had found much favour with the association. The All Nations’ Fair to be held in the Y.M.C.A. on June 17 and 18 was reported as being well under way with well laden stalls and varied attractions for young and old interspersed with music and entertainment. Mrs Fairbairn (district president) gave a stimulating and interesting address on the White Ribbon paper and received a hearty vote of thanks, Mrs Pasley closed the meeting with the benediction.
