JOYRIDER CAUGHT

EXCITING CHASE. MAN TAKEN TO POLICE STATION. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 15. A car owned by J. Paul, Y.M.C.A. secretary, at the P.W. Camp, Tamaki, was taken from the parking place in Grafton Road last night. Paul had been at a party and came out in time to see the vehicle gliding away. With two friends he gave chase. The car stopped at the bottom of a hill, the occupants going down in neutral, and, unable to get it to go further, the two men jumped out. The pursuers caught one hiding in the Domain undergrowth. Though the prisoner twice broke loose, Paul and his companions got him again, eventually pinioning the joyrider and immediately removing him to the police station.
